The Good Rivalry. Remember Renzo vs. Garcia at the 2003 ADCC

The greatness of Jiu-Jitsu was built on the mats, in epic duels between living legends. The 2003 ADCC, in Brazil, featured one of those duels, in the 77kg division. Marcelo Garcia got his spot in the event at the very last minute and did not waste his one of a kind opportunity. The gold medal in Brazil was the first step in Marcelo’s incredible run to become one of Jiu-Jitsu greatest competitors of all times. The quarterfinal match against Renzo was one of those occasions you know something awesome was bound to happen. And it did. Renzo, a two-time ADCC champion himself, was already one of Jiu-Jitsu’s most important names and has since then built a career that has impacted thousands of people all over the world.
