The day a soon-to-be Olympic champion helped Ronda Rousey in a judo demonstration

Roughly two years ago, then MMA uberstar Ronda Rousey went to Brazil to promote the UFC in the country and made a stop at Instituto Reação, a social project led by fellow Olympic bronze medalist Flavio Canto.

After a meet and greet with the kids, Ronda was invited to give a brief demonstration of her technique. The funny thing is that the person chosen to help the American was no other than Rafaela Silva. The Brazilian black belt was then already a world champion and Pan American gold medalist, but rose to world fame this week, when she won Brazil’s first (and still only) gold medal at the Rio 2016 games.
