ICYMI: Mackenzie, Tanquinho, Grippo Win at F2WPro 25; ADCC, UAEJJF, IBJJF Results
The weekend was once again filled with great options for Jiu-Jitsu fans to get their gentle art fix on. It all started on Friday with Fight to Win pro 24, in Huntington Beach, California. you can read all about that right here. Then, on Saturday and Sunday the action continued in multiple places around the world. Here’s a quick write up on all the action.
Fight to Win Pro 25
After the epic actions in Southern California, Seth Daniels and his crew hit the interstate 10 to be in Phoenix, Arizona, on the evening of Saturday, February 4th. Three matches topped the bill featuring Mackenzie Dern vs. Paty Fontes; Augusto Tanquinho vs. Jeff Glover (No-Gi); Gianni Grippo vs. Samir Chantre. Dern once again showed why she is one of the most dominant names in female BJJ today. With a cross choke, Dern finished Fontes to add another victory to her respectful record. The other two matches went the distance with Tanquinho and Grippo winning by referees decision. Click here for the full results.
ADCC Brazilian Trials
In Rio de Janeiro, another round of matches defined the second group of Brazilian athletes qualified for the 2017 ADCC, scheduled September 22-24, in Finland. The event in Brazil featured some of the best competitors the country has to offer. In the end, results were:

-77kg: Marcelo ‘Lapela’ Mafra def Gabriel Rollo by decision

UAEJJF
The road to the 2017 ADWPJJC continues to run at full speed. Two National Pro events were held this weekend in Mexico and Ecuador. In Guayaquil, Xande Ribeiro was the big name on the mats. The Atlanta Winter International Open gathered the Jiu-Jitsu community in Georgia. In the black belt division, Helton Silva Junior and Dominyka Obelenyte came out as standouts with double gold campaigns. Junior won the open class and the super-heavy division.
