CJI 2: Team 10th Planet Roster Revealed for Quintet-Style Tournament
The Craig Jones Invitational 2 (CJI 2) is bringing a fresh twist to jiu-jitsu competition in August with a Quintet-style team format. Instead of individual brackets, eight teams will clash in a high-stakes, team-vs.-team showdown. One of the most anticipated squads, Team 10th Planet, was recently announced by Eddie Bravo himself.
The Lineup
Bravo’s five-man roster is packed with talent, with each athlete covering a weight class:
• -66 kg: Geo Martinez, a staple of 10th Planet
• -77 kg: Alan Sanchez, EBI champion
• -88 kg: PJ Barch, 2024 ADCC bronze medalist
• -99 kg: Ryan Aitken, PGF champion
• +99 kg: Kyle Boehm, ADCC trials winner
Some tough calls had to be made to finalize this roster. For example, Alan Sanchez snagged the -77 kg slot over ADCC veteran Andy Varela, while Polaris champ Keith Krikorian was left off the team at -66 kg. However, Craig Jones has hinted at “wild card” additions, so there’s still a chance we’ll see some surprise entries.
What to Expect
This year’s CJI promises fireworks, with teams like B-Team, Atos, Checkmat, AOJ, and New Wave (who sat out the first event) likely joining the action. With this unique format, strategy and teamwork will be just as important as individual skill.
Team 10th Planet is coming in strong, and Bravo’s lineup shows they’re ready to make a statement. Stay tuned for more team reveals as the event approaches. It’s going to be a wild ride!
