The Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Jiu-Jitsu Pro (AJP), His Excellency Abdulmunan Al Hashemi, released a message of hope and optimism to all athletes, fans and officials. He shared the steps the AJP is taking to secure a return of Jiu-Jitsu competitions in a safe manner after the Covid19 pandemic.

In his message, His Excellency stressed how the UAEJJF and the AJP acted rapidly to make sure our community was safe. For the first time in 12 years, a decision was made to postpone the 2020 Abu Dhabi World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championship, originally scheduled for April 11-17. “We didn’t take that decision easily. We have been working continuously to come up with solutions for our community during such difficult times,” said His Excellency.

In his message His Excellency announced that the AJP has been working nonstop to give the Jiu-Jitsu community peace of mind and a timeline for the return of our activities.

“We are pleased to announce that our team is already working with a new timeline for the 2020 ADWPJJC and other events. The month of November 2020 is the most tentative target for having the Jiu-Jitsu community once again gathered at the Jiu-Jitsu Arena, in Abu Dhabi,” revealed the Chairman.

His Excellency also announced that the AJP will work with local authorities to make it possible to schedule local, regional, national and international events. The main goal is to bring Jiu-Jitsu back to our athletes and fans as safely as possible.

The Chairman wanted to assure all that the AJP will inform the community of all steps being taken.

His Excellency Abdulmunan Al Hashemi ended his message with wishing athletes, fans and officials good health and happiness.
