Main event:

Kaynan Duarte (-180) vs Rodolfo Vieira (+150)

Rodolfo is a legend of the sport and it will be very exciting to see him compete no-gi for the first time in quite a while. Kaynan barely beat Rodolfo in the gi but I feel Rodolfo is stronger in the GI. There are some unknowns going into this match as Rodolfo has been away competing in MMA for the last few years. Rodolfo could have developed a very high-level no-gi game at this point and his arm-triangle is deadly. Kaynan is a phenom and is the current ADCC champion at 99+ kg. I do think Kaynan being the pure grappler at this point will be an advantage for him. He should have more tricks in the bag and I believe he has enough of a leg lock game to cause Rodolfo problems if he chooses to attack them. Don’t miss this one.

Prediction: Kaynan Duarte by submission

Co-Main Event:

Geo Martinez (+175) vs Kennedy Maciel (-205)

Geo is considered 10th Planet’s most accomplished grappler and he’s taking on the current ADCC silver medalist at 66kg Kennedy Maciel. Geo is always dangerous and his style can give Kennedy problems, but Kennedy is the younger athlete and at this point has the higher ceiling. Kennedy is a child prodigy and his father is the legendary “Cobrinha”. Geo is the NOGI specialist here but Kennedy has shown he is very skilled NOGI as well as GI.

Prediction: Kennedy Maciel by decision

Grace Gundrum (+105) vs Mayssa Bastos (-135)

The only female match features the highly popular Grace Gundrum of 10th planet taking on Mayssa Bastos who is currently ranked #3 pound for pound. This is going to be a clash of styles. Mayssa is primarily a points player while Grace is more known for the submission-only and EBI ruleset. Grace is the NOGI specialist while Mayssa competes both GI and NOGI.

Prediction: Mayssa Basto by decision

Roberto Jimenez (-125) vs Dante Leon (+105)

This match could end up being the best fight on the card. Both fighters are very dynamic and exciting. Dante is the stronger top player while Roberto has a very dangerous guard and back takes. Roberto is a child prodigy and has been known in the jiu-jitsu since he was a green belt. Dante has grown into one of the strongest NOGI competitors in the world.

Prediction: I think this fight is a pick-em and will end in submission, I lean Roberto slightly

Vagner Rocha (-195) vs Jon “Thor” Blank (+165)

Vagner is the current ADCC silver medalist and one of the best NOGI grapplers in the world. Jon Blank had a strong showing at ADCC submitting many quality opponents. This is going to be a big test for ‘Thor’ but also for Vagner who needs to avoid the heel hook. Expect Vagner to take the top position and “Thor” to play his dangerous open guard game.

Prediction: Vagner Rocha by submission

Tye Ruotolo (-160) vs Kody Steele (+130)

Tye was one win short of being on the podium at ADCC and Kody was an alternate for ADCC. This should be a high paced match. Tye I feel has the stronger team, higher-level training partners, and is yet another child prodigy. Both of these guys have high ceilings and it should be an exciting match.

Prediction: Tye Ruotolo by decision
