Thursday kicked off the 2015 Pan Jiujitsu Championship at UC Irvine’s Bren Events Center. The day’s action showcased some of the lower belts looking to make a name for themselves this year. There were plenty of great matches with examples including John Cave (Easton BJJ) scoring a win over Devon Delbrugge (Lloyd Irvin) and Nicholas Meregali (Alliance) out pointing Michael Anthony Perez (Atos) in an early heavyweight division thriller. Meregali also choked out Devhonte Johnson (Alliance) as he advanced, proving he’ll be one to watch for in Friday’s absolutes.
